“Judy's Canyon” Art Exhibit Reception and Book Signing
Frame Gallery presents "Judy's Canyon," a solo art exhibit of paintings from Connie Schley Keetle’s memoir chronicling the experience of losing her best friend to cancer, and the discoveries that informed her life as an artist after that experience. The opening reception is Friday, September 20, 5-6:30 pm at Frame Gallery and includes an artist talk, book signing and light refreshments. The public is invited to attend.
Watercolor Workshop with Phil Ponder
Frame Gallery presents a unique opportunity to participate in an intermediate-level Watercolor Workshop for high school students and adults with renowned Nashville artist, Phil Ponder, on Saturday, October 5 from 1 to 3 pm.
For a fee of $85, which includes the required materials, participants will receive basic instruction in the use of pencil, ink pen, and watercolor brushes. Windows and doors of Sewanee, including those pictured, will be the subject matter.
The workshop is limited to eight participants, and your payment of the workshop fee will reserve your seat.
Clay Workshop with Terrie Ponder Watch
Come Play in the Clay! Terrie Ponder Watch of Cardinal Lake Pottery presents a two-part Clay Workshop series on Saturday, August 10, from 1-3 pm and Saturday, August 24, from 1-2 pm at Frame Gallery. The first session will include hand-building techniques, including slab, imprinting, forming clay over river rocks, scoring, and slip. The second session will involve glazing the pieces created in the first session.
Painting Together Exhibit with Sewanee Art Works
Please join us for our annual exhibit of artists in Martha Keeble's painting group on Friday, July 12 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Frame Gallery. The Sewanee Art Works artists include Betty Barton Blythe, Nancy Burnett, Lacy Camp, Virginia Curry, Susan Lane, Leslie Lightfoot, Rebecca Miller, Geraldine Piccard, Annette Smith, and Randa Wells.
The exhibit at Frame Gallery is open from July 12 through August 16, 2024.

Three Lenses: A Photography Showcase
Frame Gallery is thrilled to present our inaugural group photography exhibition, showcasing the works of Kylene McDonald, Rick Boethe, and Sr. Madeline Mary. Each artist uniquely captures the essence of their surroundings, offering a glimpse into the beauty of their daily lives. The exhibition features stunning landscape vistas from St. Mary's Convent and St. Mary's Retreat Center, alongside exquisite images of local flora and fauna, including our beloved goats of the University Farm. Framed photos, prints, and notecards will be available for sale.

Whimsical Wildlife: Opening Reception
Please join us for the 4th annual art show by The Nature Journaling Group at Frame Gallery! This year's theme is "Whimsical Wildlife" and includes works by Lendon Noe, Lin Cameron, Margie Gallagher, Teesha Tiller, Laura Blackman, Deb Tucker, Mary Davis, and Mary Priestley.

Group Art Class for Students (Grades 5-10)
Illustrator and instructor, Cheryl Lankhaar, is offering group art classes for students (grades 5 to 10) every Sunday (April 14 - May 19) from 3-5 p.m. at Frame Gallery Studio.
The $125 registration per student includes all painting supplies, room, rental and instructor fee for the six-week class. Students will create at least two completed projects to take home.
Cheryl Lankhaar is the illustrator of the children's book, The Monteagle Assembly, Kinsley's Story.
Please register by April 7 at noon by emailing Cheryl to sign up for the 6-week class.
Sewing Class: Become Friends With Your Sewing Machine
Register by March 8th for a Sewing Workshop taught by Claire Cabe each Saturday in April from 2-5 p.m. at the Frame Gallery Studio. This sewing course is for anyone who: has a sewing machine but has not used it in a long time, or wants to begin sewing but knows very little about sewing machines.
This class will cover the basics: bobbin winding, different pressor feet, changing needle, changing stitches, and sewing LOTS of straight lines.
You will also learn to sandwich, quilt, and bind your final masterpiece, which will measure 36” x 60.”

Come on down to Frame Gallery this Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for our Spring Crafts Pop-Up Party! For $5/person, you can make paper flower bouquets, flower crowns, bunny ears, sidewalk chalk artwork, and more under the canopy in the courtyard outside. Frame Gallery Presents McCullough Partee: American Illustrator
Please join us at Frame Gallery on Friday, March 22 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for the opening of "McCullough Partee: American Illustrator," a captivating exhibition featuring the works of McCullough Partee, a prominent figure in American illustration.
The exhibition will display a collection of oil paintings and illustration boards dating back to the 1930s, offering a glimpse into Partee’s remarkable talent and the illustration techniques of the time.
"McCullough Partee: American Illustrator" will be on display at Frame Gallery from the opening reception on March 22 through April 20.

Please come and see nativities from around the world from your neighbors' private collections in this one-day-only exhibit. Nativities will be on display in the Studio along with light refreshments. There will be nativities and other Christmas decorations and gifts available in the gallery.

Artist Reception: Laura Blackman

From miniatures to larger works, Laura captures the spirit of the South Cumberland Plateau and its flora and fauna that inspires her. Christian Icons by Sr. Eliseea Papacioc
Please join us for a reception and conversation to celebrate the latest icons by Sr. Eliseea Papacioc, a Romanian Orthodox nun and icon writer living in a small village outside of Bucharest. The Rev. John Runkle and Martha Keeble, icon writer and teacher, will be on hand to talk about Sr. Eliseea and her icons, the history of icon writing and icon writing techniques. You also will have the opportunity to purchase the icons or to commission one.
