“Decline” is an oil and acrylic ink original on canvas measuring 20" x 40" by Lendon Noe.
Frame Gallery Gifts & Art is delighted to feature Jackson, TN, artist Lendon Noe a second time for a solo exhibition, To Sit With a Flower: Paintings by Lendon Noe, from June 26 to July 25, 2026.
After hearing Sewanee Professor David Haskell speak about his latest book, Flowers Made Our World, she purchased it, and her paintings reflect the influence of nature and Haskell’s perceptions. At the end of the book, David invites us to “play” with flowers and offers many ways to do so.
One of these activities invites us to “sit” with a flower. Noe puts “sit” in quotation marks because this kind of “sitting” evokes meditation, giving your full attention to the flower in front of you. Noe’s been trying to do just that, and this body of work is the result.
