Frame Gallery Gifts and Art is pleased to present a reception and exhibition of recent works by Sewanee artist Connie Keetle, opening on Friday, October 17, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

This new collection showcases Keetle’s latest explorations in acrylic and mixed media, featuring a series of landscapes—both observed and imagined—alongside a selection of still-life paintings.

The exhibition invites viewers to experience the artist’s continued investigation of form, color, and layered meaning.

About the Artist

Lisbeth Conrad (Connie) Schley Keetle was born in Maryland and raised in Vermont, where she developed a lasting love for the natural world. She earned her BFA in graphic design and illustration from the Kansas City Art Institute and continued to refine her craft through studies with Tad Spurgeon at the Shelburne Craft School, Cami Davis at the University of Vermont, and Cynthia Packard in Provincetown, MA.

Connie’s creative path has been wide-ranging—she has illustrated a children’s book, written and illustrated a memoir, and explored both realistic and abstract landscapes inspired by places real and imagined. Her guiding question while painting is: “What resonates for me about this work? What brought me joy in creating it?” When that joy extends to viewers, she describes the experience as nothing short of magic.

Her artwork has been exhibited in Missouri, Vermont, Virginia, and Tennessee, in both solo and group shows. Connie has been a part of the Frame Gallery Gifts & Art team for four years and has become a master framer. She has shared her paintings with the community locally at Sterling's, Mooney's, The Lemon Fair, and Frame Gallery.
