  • Frame Gallery Gifts and Art 12569 Sollace M Freeman Highway Sewanee, TN, 37375 United States (map)

This networking event is for any artist who would like to share their craft in a workshop or class setting. Come with questions for Carole Foret and leave with the tips you need to get started teaching art workshops and classes.

Carole has been teaching for over three decades in her own studio and in workshops in the Tuscany region of Italy. She has also been invited to teach in other galleries and in the South, including Frame Gallery.

This is a free event open to all, and we are thankful that Carole is willing to share her extensive knowledge and experience with us.

This workshop marked the beginning of artist networking events at Frame Gallery, with artist and art teacher Carole Foret speaking with artists interested in teaching. In this informal discussion, participants asked discerning questions and shared their struggles and achievements with one another.

With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Carole addressed several important issues to consider when teaching art in both workshop and classroom settings, including curriculum planning, setting prices and instructional fees, marketing, and the value of sharing artistic knowledge with others.

You can see her teaching in action by attending her upcoming two-day art workshop, Creating Compelling Paintings From the Everyday Photo at Frame Gallery on Friday, March 20 (2:00 - 6:00 pm) and Saturday, March 21 (10:00 am - 5:00 pm).

Participants should bring 2-3 landscape or cityscape photos to the workshop, or they can use one of Carole's for inspiration. Students will leave the workshop with a stunning oil painting of their favorite scene and their own workbook, "Oil Painting with Carole Forêt."
