Hot Dogs & Cool Cats Fundraiser for MARC is Huge Success
We had an amazing turnout on Saturday, August 16, 2025, for Hot Dogs and Cool Cats Art Show & Party fundraiser for Marion Animal Resource Connection (MARC)!
Together, we raised $3,360 and $565 in art sales for a total of $3,925 at the event! The art show will remain on view through Saturday, September 13, with proceeds from all sales continuing to support MARC through the end of the exhibition. We’re also happy to ship artwork for those who aren’t nearby.
This event was such a success thanks to the compassion and generosity of our community. Your support—through donations, original art, pet supplies, food, and art purchases—is already making a real difference for homeless cats and dogs.
A huge thank-you to those who made the day especially meaningful and fun:
Mollie McMurry for baking and selling Pet & People Treats, with 100% of proceeds going to MARC
Cameron Adams, local photographer, for running our Photo Booth
Carole Forêt, Huntsville/Sewanee artist, for creating Cat Wands and painting faces
Sublime Haven for grilling hotdogs and serving refreshments, with 100% of proceeds benefiting MARC
And Crafty Cajun for selling her art and donating part of the proceeds to MARC!
The fun doesn’t stop here—come see the art show through September 13, 2025 and keep supporting MARC with every purchase. Together, we’re making a difference for our four-legged friends!
Press Coverage
The Sewanee Mountain Messenger
“Thank you, Harriet Runkle and Frame Gallery in Sewanee, for creating and hosting this great fundraiser for MARC on Aug. 16. Hot Dogs & Cool Cats Art Show and Party was a big success. Many people came and many brought and donated pet care items and many made financial donations. There were (and are still on display at the gallery) many wonderful art creations depicting many different beautiful and fun ideas so showcase our dogs and cats. Sublime Haven in Sewanee catered the event serving delicious hot dogs. Vendor, Crafty Cajun sold a variety of beautiful handmade items. All were to benefit MARC and the animals in our/MARC’s care. So far, the total financial donations is $3,360.76. We expect more art sales will add to this amount. What a wonderful idea and great response from our community to help the dogs and cats.”
