Frame Gallery’s Hot Dogs and Cool Cats Art Show Benefits Homeless Animals on August 16
Sewanee, Tenn. (July 28, 2025) – Frame Gallery is proud to host the "Hot Dogs and Cool Cats" art show and party, benefiting Marion Animal Resource Connection (MARC), on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Frame Gallery Gifts & Art in downtown Sewanee.
Artists across several states, including Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and Missouri, are generously donating dog- and cat-themed artwork that will be available for viewing and purchase at the art show, which runs from August 16 to September 9, with the proceeds benefiting MARC. Interested artists of any age and experience level can still submit art in any medium for the show by August 9 on Frame Gallery’s website.
In addition to the art show, animal lovers can play games, win prizes, make art for animals, and a whole lot more! Light refreshments and snacks will be for sale with a donation to MARC.
Photographs of MARC’s dogs and cats available for foster care and adoption will also be on display at the event; however, the actual animals will not be in attendance. Guests are kindly asked to leave their pets at home for “Hot Dogs and Cool Cats.”
During the “Hot Dogs and Cool Cats” party, Frame Gallery will also collect in-kind donations to support the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The suggested list of donations includes:
Purina puppy and kitten chow
Soft kitten food
Cat and dog toys
Paper towels
Large black trash bags
Lemon cleaner
Bleach
Bath or beach towels
Martingale dog collars, all sizes (see example on Amazon here)
Slip leads (see example on Amazon here)
MARC requests that donations do not include retractable leashes.
“Hot Dogs and Cool Cats” is Frame Gallery’s second fundraiser for MARC. The first fundraiser, Pictures with Santa Paws, on December 21, 2024, raised $750 and collected in-kind donations to support the animals of MARC in time for the winter holidays.
Owner, Harriet Runkle, hopes to double the amount of cash donations from the proceeds and increase the number of in-kind contributions with the “Hot Dogs and Cool Cats” fundraiser. Runkle says the art exhibit and party on August 16, “is a chance to show some love for the homeless cats and dogs in Franklin, Marion, and Grundy, Tennessee counties, and find them good foster and forever homes.”
